මැණික් පහන් දැල්වුණු කුල මැඳුරේ, නැණවත් ගුරුවරුන්ගේ සභාවේදී, රජගුරු විජයබා පිරිවෙනේ හිමි පැහැදුණු විට, මිහිරි පද ඇති මේ සැළලිහිණි අස්න කවියා සම්පාදනය කළේ ය.

In the royal hall lit by jewelled lamps, in an assembly of the learned, when the royal preceptor of Vijayabahu Pirivena was pleased, the poet composed this sweet-worded Salalihini message.
